.--.-.-. (war) | video 0:23 | 2014
As the piece is played, the listener hears a fire alarm with a response of fear beeped out. This initiates the start of war. The next pairing is bolts, screws, and nails hitting the ground as if they were bullets as the word hopeless is sent out after a moment of silence. The delayed one second between the sounds is representational of people prepping for worse to come again and again. As the attacks from both sides continue on, a propane tank explodes like a bomb was dropped. Another moment of silence passes and the flyer’s mind expresses guilt in dots and dashes. The final sounds that ring in the listener’s ears are hands clapping for victory, however grief is the last message sent out. These final two sounds contradict each other because at the end, many people were triumphant for the bloodshed to be over while the Jews mourned their losses.
